Gokyo Lake & & Everest Area journey starts with a short scenic flight to Lukla town, the door to Everest area from Lukla begins the real trekking passing several traditional Sherpa villages with their rich old culture and custom with awe inspiring scenery on the walk following the glacial Dudh Kosi river upstream and reaching the famous Sherpa’s capital at Namche Bazaar, with all kinds of modern facilities, hotels, lodge, restaurants, bakery, Cyber café, post office and banks. From Namche heading higher slowly to quaint villages of Khunde and Khumjung on the glacial wide valley and beneath the holy Khumbi-la mountain “The Patron God” of Khumbu region and the heading towards Gokyo Lake through beautiful serene woodlands of rhododendron, birch, pines and firs tree lines with tremendous views of high snow capped mountain during the walk every day, after Dole leaving the tree lines behind for few days to barren moon like landscapes and reaching at Gokyo Lake and to the highest point of this trip at Gokyo Ri 5,357 meters with awesome panorama from Mt. Cho-Oyu, Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Mt. Makalu towards east and other adjoining mountain range, after a grand time here heading down to a quiet Phortse village on the least trekked area by other trekkers and towards famous Tengboche monastery surrounded by high mountains and after an enjoyable and memorable time at Gokyo Lake & Everest Area heading back to Lukla for the sweeping scenic flight back to Kathmandu with great service of Annapurna Encounter.
